Our Ingredients

We use a variety of high-quality, plant-based oils and butters to create our products, including olive oil, coconut oil, organic RSPO certified palm oil, and shea butter.
Our soaps are crafted with a blend of oils and butters, including canola, castor, coconut, olive, palm, rice, and sweet almond oils, along with shea butter, cocoa butter, and/or mango butter. We also add various fragrances and other ingredients like beer, skin-safe colorants, and eco-friendly glitters.
Our lotion bars typically contain a mix of nourishing oils such as sweet almond, jojoba, grapeseed, and coconut oil, as well as vitamin E, shea and cocoa butter, and candelilla wax, emulsifying wax, arrowroot powder, and Optiphen. For our foot balms, we use similar ingredients with the addition of beeswax.

True soap is created through a process called saponification, where oils and butters are combined with lye and liquid. This reaction transforms the ingredients into gentle cleansing bars with naturally occurring glycerin.

No. Lye is fully consumed during the soapmaking process. Properly made soap contains no active lye and is safe for daily use.

Handmade soaps often include a blend of plant-based oils, butters, clays, botanicals, milks, and fragrance or essential oils. Each ingredient is chosen for a specific purpose, whether for lather, conditioning, or gentle exfoliation.
Soapmaking Basics

Curing allows excess water to evaporate from the soap, creating a harder, longer-lasting bar with a better lather. Our soaps are cured for several weeks before being offered for sale.

Essential oils are derived from plants, while fragrance oils are carefully crafted blends created to mimic or enhance natural scents. Both are widely used in soapmaking and must meet safety standards for skin use.

Yes. All fragrance oils used in our products are skin-safe, professionally formulated, and used within approved usage rates.

Handmade soaps are crafted in small batches using higher-quality ingredients and a more time-intensive process. They retain naturally occurring glycerin and are free from many fillers and harsh detergents found in mass-produced bars. You’re paying for craftsmanship, ingredient quality, and care.
Sensitive Skin & Use

Yes. Yes. We offer unscented options and products made with gentle formulations. If you have specific sensitivities, we recommend reviewing ingredient lists carefully and patch testing before full use.
Our Humility Collection is a simple, pure option made without added essential or fragrance oils.

Yes, many customers use handmade soap for external intimate cleansing. As always, discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Yes. Our soaps are effective at cleansing and many customers find they remove deodorant buildup well.
Shelf Life

With proper care, a bar can last several weeks. Longevity depends on usage and how well the soap is allowed to dry between uses.

Keep soap in a well-drained dish and away from standing water. Allowing it to dry between uses helps extend its life.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight.

Yes. Simply allow them to cool and solidify again. Heat does not damage the product.
Orders

Occasionally, we may include a complimentary sample with paid customer orders, based on availability. Complimentary samples are not guaranteed.
Ninety-Nine Club members have the option to select one complimentary sample per order from our full scent portfolio as part of their membership benefits.

Shipping

We cover all shipments against loss, damage, or theft through our third-party insurance. In the rare event your order is impacted, we will file a claim on your behalf to make the process as stress-free as possible.

To qualify for a refund or replacement under our shipping guarantee, the issue must meet one of the following criteria.
1. Lost Package
The package must be officially declared Lost by the Carrier, meaning the tracking status never updated to "Delivered."
2. Damage Upon Delivery or Theft After Delivery
If your products arrived Damaged upon Delivery or were Stolen after the package was marked “Delivered,” you must submit an official claim to us using the Contact Us form on our website.
Damaged Items: For damaged items, our insurance carrier requires clear photographic documentation of the products and packaging. You must provide this documentation when submitting your claim; we will not be able to file your claim or issue a refund without it.
Stolen Delivery & Future Deliveries: Following a reported porch theft, we will require all future deliveries to your address to use a Signature Confirmation service. This offers an additional layer of protection for both of us.

If an order is returned to us by the carrier as undeliverable (due to an incorrect address provided by the customer), we will issue a refund for the product's purchase price only. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Please note: If an undeliverable package fails to be returned to us, the customer is responsible for the loss, and a refund will not be issued.

Heat-Sensitive Products

Our handmade soaps will not melt in warm temperatures; however, embeds, toppings, and surface details may soften or warp if exposed to heat.
Our foot balms and lotion bars are formulated to melt at average body temperature (98.6°F) and may soften or melt during shipping in warm climates. We do not issue refunds for products that have melted during transit.
Please use your best judgment based on your local climate and tracking information, and bring packages inside promptly after delivery. If you are concerned about melting, we recommend waiting to purchase these items during cooler seasons.

Due to the personal nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns. However, if there is an issue with your order, please contact us and we will gladly work with you to make it right.
Sustainable & Earth Friendly Practices
At the heart of Psalm 23 Soap Ministry is a deep respect for God’s creation and a commitment to thoughtful, responsible soapmaking. We formulate our products using biodegradable ingredients and sustainably sourced, plant-based oils such as RSPO-certified palm oil, shea butter, and coconut oil.
While we primarily use natural colorants and exfoliants like clays, herbs, and ground spices, we may also use a small amount of cosmetic-grade oxides and synthetic colorants when needed to achieve specific hues. These are carefully selected and used in accordance with safety standards.
We practice energy-conscious production through cold process soapmaking, curing in well-ventilated spaces, and often producing during non-peak hours. We choose recycled or widely recyclable packaging whenever possible.
